SAARC Chamber Crafts Village (SCCV) serves
as the information and marketing resource body by facilitation
of trade activities through intra exchange of products and
services among rural, semi urban and urban women producer
groups, entrepreneurs, manufacturers, professionals and service
providers in the South Asian Region. One of the core objectives
of the SAARC Chamber Crafts Village is to create greater market
opportunities, design and deliver integrated solutions for
business development, support and expand the operations of
SMEs through increased access to local, regional and global
markets.
It has been realized that a permanent outlet, SAARC Trading
House has to be established with the replication of the concept
in other SAARC Countries for a larger visibility. The marketing
unit should focus on a strong forward and backward linkages
strategy incorporating different units for sustainability.

a) Crafts bazaar
- The idea of a SAARC Trading House has been conceptualized
for South Asian craftspeople to showcase their handicrafts
product. It is also to facilitate in-house trainings, product
development workshops and various development programs for
the entrepreneurs, producers, artisans as well as buyers and
sellers.
b) Organic products
bazaar - Organic Bazaar will bring together the consumers
and the producers of organic and traditional farming products.
This is an innovation in local marketing of organic produce.
SAARC Trading House clearly will be much more than a marketing
campaign – it will be an internationally recognized
competitiveness driver; an impetus for economic growth, employment
creation, social change and greater overall prosperity.

Establishment of
Credit Guarantee Fund Company: The concept of establishing
a Credit Guarantee Fund Company in Nepal is the outcome of
the Advocacy Forum held in March 2011, Kathmandu, Nepal. Mr.
A R Samal, representing as an expert from Credit Guarantee
Fund Trust for Micro and Small Enterprises (CGTMSE) India
had done a presentation on “Credit Guarantee Scheme”
as a replication of best practice.
